After
searching for months and months and still failing to find what I thought
was a suitable air intake system for my Weber
carburetor equipped 1979 Alfetta GT race car I decided to design my
own system.

I did some reading and
determined that a 90 mm (3.5 in.) length intake would be the optimum
length. I designed the air intakes with a slight 5 degree taper, also in
order to achieve a venturi effect. After showing the design to our
machinist extraordinaire, Dirk Tollenaar, he and I did some brainstorming
to come up with the best way to manufacture the design.
A week later I picked up the
finished product from Dirk, and to say I was pleased would be an
understatement. I think these are the finest looking Weber carb air
intakes I have ever seen. The machine work is absolutely beautiful. Dirk
took the time to show me how he made the parts, and I was impressed. He
also told me that he machined the inside of the intakes at a very slow
speed to yield a very smooth surface. This allows for better airflow into
the carbs. The entire system is made from aluminum. Each intake tube is
threaded and has a screw on cap. A filter screen or thin foam filter can
be placed inside the cap and then screwed into place.
The Ultra Hobby Weber carb air
intake system consists of the following parts: 4 Intake bases, 4 intake
tubes, 4 screw-on intake caps, and 4 aluminum nuts (for the bottom screws
on the carb). This system sells for $475.00 plus $7.00 shipping in the
USA.

We also offer a 'Sprint' type
filter plate made from 3/16" aluminum. The filter plate sells for $55.00
plus $7.00 shipping in the USA.
The air intake system and filter plate can be purchased together for the
discounted price of $510.00 plus $7.00 shipping in the USA.
